Wen Sylvestre (2)

Illustrator from The Netherlands, with a particular love for the children’s market. I love to help create a magical place for kids to explore and have fun in, or to escape to.
I work in both traditional and digital media, and usually combine these. I experiment with all kinds of art supplies and techniques.
Stones, sea glass, broken pottery pieces, shells, and pressed flowers and leaves make up my cabinet of curiosities.  Little treasures that I collect on the hikes with my family. Another favourite way to relax is to create with threads, like embroidery and crochet. Sometimes these things will end up being scanned and put in an illustration.
I’m inspired by the beautiful and intriguing world of nature, old villages, medieval and renaissance art, quirky people and creatures, the micro world of bugs, and fairy tales.
My favourite colours are sea foam green and ochre yellow.
